Acne and Exercise - Showering the right
way

As told before, it is also recommended to take a shower
immediately after exercising and working out. If you are a
person prone and vulnurable in regards to acne outbrakes, you
should take great care on what cleanser you are using.
We recommend to always use a medicated exfoliant for
cleaning of your skin when taking a shower. You may have your
prefered brand of shower gel already, but whatever cleanser you
are going to use, make sure it will be soft and gentle to your
skin.
And do NOT scrub. Scrubbing harder is not going to make you
any cleaner, nor will it make your acne go away. In contrary
with intense scrubbing you will most probably make the
situation worse.
Scrubbing, be it during your shower session or whilst drying
yourself with a towel, will actually irritate existing lesions
or even promote the development of tiny new lesions, scratches
and other tiny wounds in your skin. Scrubbing and rubbing will
also trigger red irritations of your skin.
If you cannot take a shower right after
your excercise you should still be able to curb acne
breakouts by wiping down your skin with medicated pads. So
keep a few of those pads securely packed in your gym bag,
just in case.
This is the last article of our small series about acne and
exercising. Keep up the good work and continue exercising the
right way. If done right, exercising can even help you against
your acne problems and promote your body not only with a higher
degree of physical fitness but a healthier skin as well. Just
bear in mind what you just learned and keep an eye on the
critical acne factors.
